Films free online

Tomorrow is the day I get BT infinity with a monthly allowance of 40GB.

I will then be able to watch films online.

I have seen some sites that offer films free, and as I understand that

'you never get something for nothing'

...what is the catch? and
...which sites do you recommend, if any?

(I am aware that there are some that have a monthly charge and will send out DVDs by post, but since a trip to a post box to return them would cost me a taxi ride, they aren't suitable)

30 days of great films - watch instantly | LOVEFiLM

I am not a great film fan Margaret, but this is a site that will allow you to download from the internet....Ok, so you have to pay a monthly subscription of £4.99...but I guess that would be cheaper than a few taxi rides to post back the DVD's.
I hope you get the best from your BT infinity.......I will await your opinion on it......though to be honest I don't think I would benefit from up-grading at the moment.

Thanks for that info, Margaret.
I have just browsed their site -
£4.99 a month + extra charge for each film.

When I googled 'films free' I found a site where they were really free, but during the sign up process I baulked at ticking a box which said 'I surrender my soul'.

That I can never do, and whether it was just in jest or not, I won't take that risk.

(I explain that by saying that the progress of your life path is founded on your intention)

And I would have done exactly the same.
What about this one...again, not free, but looks like a better deal than Lovefilm

That looks a better deal - £5.99 for everything and unlimited :D

I looked at that first Margaret, but didn't go to the website and thought that the films were only to be downloaded on Games consoles...but on further investigation you can download them to PC's. It maybe worth having the months free trial to see if you like what they have to offer.

Re: Films free online

One of my granddaughters is a film fan and recommends Lovefilm rather than Netflix.

She says that there is a library of films which are free (included in the monthly sub), and that Netflix doesn't provide that wide selection. (There are some on Lovefilm which are charged).

She is even providing me with a Love Film gift card with two months of subs free.:D

Does anyone know if the Lovefilm downloads are only available for UK residents -i would like to be able to watch them over here - i have a cable which can hook the computer up to the TV so it would be great. In the past I tried BBC and others but they don't work outside the UK...

what you need is a UK based proxy server to route through. that way to BBC/etc you "are" in the UK. There are some free ones but reliability can occasionally be an issue.

Try here for a list

Thanks for this, looks interesting -will give it a try when I get my laptop back tomorrow.

I know of people in the Canaries who manage to see these but didn't know how it worked - fingers crossed!
