New Tricks

I watched the first episode of the new series last night.
What a disappointment it was.
The story line was corny and the actors (understandably) didn't have any enthusiasm for it.
This previously popular series has lost it's shine.
Conflict with the scriptwriters seems to have caused that.

James Bolam has quit now and Amanda Redman leaves after this series.

An absolutely ridiculous storyline, it needs to improve 300% in the next episode or it's not going to keep me watching, I missed Horizon to watch that twaddle.

It wasn't that bad as some of the other plots in the show.

In real life, Susan Jameson who plays the part of Brian's wife, is the wife of James Bolam.
He has left after last nights episode, and she didn't appear.
I wonder if she has decided to leave too, so will have to be scripted out or replaced.

Thanks for the update Margaret...

Did you know that it's possible Marc Bolan changed his name influenced by James Bolam? Apparently they shared a flat before Bolan became Bolan. Bolam was having more success as an actor, than Bolan was having as a musician, which inspired Marc Feld - to change his name to Bolan. Well I heard this on a radio program about the life of Marc Bolan. :)

I thought it was rubbish too, and I'm gutted that James Bolam has gone.

James Bolam

Was roommates with Marc Bolan in the '60s.

Was the true inspiration for Marc Bolan's name, not Bob Dylan as reported.
