Find Out After the Break.....
One of the techniques used by TV quiz or game shows on commercial TV is to call an ad break at a point of high tension in the game. It is supposed to keep the viewer's interest through the break, so they will watch the ads waiting to see what happens in the game.
I'm finding that increasingly I'm starting to surf the other channels at that point, and don't bother ever returning to the programme. I think its partly because the programme isn't of sufficiently high quality to make me give two shakes as to what is going to happen to the contestant, and partly because, with the number of channels on offer, I always find something more interesting. The two worst culprits of this are Deal or No Deal and The Million Pound Drop. |

Re: Find Out After the Break.....
I record a lot of the programmes I want to watch, so that I can fast forward through the ads. The Universal channel seems to have ad breaks every 10 minutes, so watching their programmes live is tedious.
