Ginger Baker.

Did anybody see the BBC1 Imagine documentary "Beware of Mr Baker" last night?
Great drummer but what a spectacularly nasty, nasty man.

Damn, I meant to watch it. I'll check the BBC's iPlayer. He might have been a great drummer, but the lengthy solo on Wheel Of Fire's Toad is boring!

I know I always say this but how on earth do they live so long ? The usual drink, drugs, money, falling out and girls. Did you see the plane delivering the polo ponies ? Incredible

I went to watch Hawkwind when I was fifteen at The Guild Hall in Preston and in the interval Ginger Baker was having a fag in a corridor. The people I was with kept nudging me to get his autograph but I chickened out cos i thought he might tell me to pee off. Wish I had now though.

They don't all live so long - he's one who obviously has the right genes.

I'm sure I've seen one similar before about his life - was this the first time this has been shown?

Anyone remember the ginger haired farmer at Windy Harbor, if he saw you on his fields he'd come after you in his land rover and threaten you with a stick and he'd shout and swear if you ran off before he got there - he was a bit of a ginger baker.

The film is a couple of years old so you may well have seen it elsewhere Kx

Beware of Mr. Baker (2012) - IMDb

I saw it last night. An excellent documentary. Although he came across as cantankerous, treating people like dirt, somehow I feel sorry for him.

Yeh have seen it then - but the BBC are showing a lot of repeats of late.
