Hello from Morecambe

Just popped in to say hello.
Been having a look round your site and as an ex Accyite, (suppose I should stick with my Accy Grammar routes and call myself an ex Accringtonian), thought I would join in. There is so much to read here that it may take a while to get through it all.
At last a well moderated site where people discuss - you are almost unique!

Hello and welcome. Busman and I are two Accyites who love Morecambe. Been dying to communicate with someone who loves 'up there'.

Seems like a friendly place, I hope anything else isn't tolerated. I need to spend some time finding my way about the site.

I used to live in Morecambe opposite The Park Hotel on Balmoral Road we still have days out there, lovely sea front.

Re: Hello from Morecambe

The sea front is the best part of Morecambe as far as I am concerned. They have been talking about building some fancy shops on the old Frontierland site but they are of no interest to me as I don't play shopping. I think the land would be better used for sea front apartments as they have done on Salford Quays in Manchester.

Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome, there are some things about Accrington I miss and some things I don't. This site is great for keeping in touch with the old town. Thanks

The people on this site are a friendly bunch, even to those who have deserted them for the sea air. Morecambe is great apart from the people who always want to slag it off - oh yes and the immigrants (Yorkshire folk mainly) lol.

We could save up for 6 months and meet at the Midland for a coffee!

Been here 5 years myself.
How long have you been here?
