Hello
Stevensons the name. Everybody calls me Mog. Just joined your site and its nice to read about the old Accy I knew and grew up in.
Spent from 1953 to 1966 in Crown street. Just off Willows Lane. There were 4 kids in the family. 3 lads and 1 lass. I Went to St Peters school till 1958 and then to St Christophers until 1962.Went in the coal mines at Huncoat and then Hapton Valley until I moved to Coventry and worked in the pits untill 1993. Semi retired now and feeling very nostalgic. Got lots on memories of old mates and girl friends. |

Re: Hello
Welcome . After at first thinking they called you Mog because you looked like a cat, I too realised thatitr would be Maurice becuiase Morris Minor cars are called Moggies. I was manager's clerkl at Hapton Valley 1957-8 (Mr Eric Whatmore & Alan Ingham my bosses) I have fond memories of a lot of the people there. Also spent a little time at Huncoat Pit with Jimmy Cregg the undermanager. You are going to get a lot of pleasure in reading postings.
