For someone who spent his working life in electrics and electronics, the Wibbly Wobbly Way can't half get me confused. I've been all way the round Padiham to get here.
Hyndburn Park; AGS; Steiners; Simpsons; Alfred Holt; C.E.G.B. (Blackburn, Fleetwood; Heysham ). Retired when the whole lot got Piratized, no room in organisations like that for a rough talking Gobbiner!.That's my life story in a nutshell.
Any takers from those with memories of the 40s and 50s, Joe Morts,Con Club, (Eddie M'cGarry and his Broadcasting Band), 7 cinemas, many!! pubs.
Even 3 cinemas in Ossy and countless pubs, the challenge was to have a pint in every one from the Black Dog to Commercial at Church, or Commercial to Commercial, never made it (quite).
That's enough of a ramble for now

Welcome. Quite a few on here are AGSOBs, would help if you gave the years you were there - Bob Dobson will no doubt be in touch with you. Presume you also went to Accy Tech and possibly Burnley or Blackburn Techs - all depending on the years.

Umpire has got me stumped......All of Accrington's cinemas began with the letter 'T' :- Th'Odeon; Th'Empire; T'Princes; T'Palace: T'Ritz; T'King's Hall , which is only six, so is he including T'Queen's Hall (T'Tudor) , which was in just Church, or t'Dowry, Accrington's first cinema but long before his time .?
I suspect Umpire is a year or two older than me, as my memories of the 40s mostly concern school and 'playing out'
I await his next delivery when he will tell us more about his schooldays - maybe more besides. Make it quick, before the men in white coats arrive.

Yes to all. Burnley ONC chemistry; Accrington & Blackburn HNC electrical, had to give up chemics due to skin reactions.
