Quick exercise question

Ok this is just a quick question i have about exercising.

The other night i watched a program with David James in he was telling everyone how he got his six-pack he said he does 20 sit ups a day and 20 push ups and after 2-3 weeks your six pack should be on its way or youll have it.

My brother reackons its more like 100 push usps and press ups a day and after a month....can you tell me who is right and if i did what David James is doing would i get a six-pack in that time space.

Well, proof is in the pudding lex luther, don't know who David James is, but try the 20 for 2>3 weeks, sure won't be harmful, if no improvement, build up to 100  >>>>> Nah..

Listening to Radio 2 on way home (sorry :D ) they were on about metabolism,
and keeping it up regularly as against one mad rush i.e. 3 times a week of 1/2 hour exercise, will keep it level and help keep your metabolism level and, I suppose, building up muscle too. Guess that's the first step. Get yer heart approving first.

Feel you gonna' get some difference of opinion here from our macho men. tee hee.

Your brother is closer then Clamity James, you will have to do 20- 30 a week once you've got one to keep it rock hard but the average to get one depending on excess fat, body type, and exercise level is 60 - 150 a day for 3 months, done in 3 sessions building up to 60 per session.

That means you want to do between 10-16 reps of each exercise for 2-3 sets. If you've been doing abs for a while and find that you're not fatigued at the end of each set:
Check Your Form. Don't use momentum or other body parts (like your neck or your hip flexors) to help you.
Slow down. The slower you go, the more your muscles will work.

Core Strength and Good Posture

If you're following the trends in exercise and fitness, you've probably heard the phrase "core strength." Core strength refers to the muscles of your abs and back and their ability to support your spine and keep your body stable and balanced. Learn how to strengthen your core, reduce back pain and get strong abs.
