Car Hire In Accrington
We are hoping to come "home" in June and wondered if there was anywhere that hires cars at a reasonable price. Would prefer an automatic. We usually hire at the airport, but we only need one for part of the time we will be in Accrington. I got a couple of names from the internet but there wasn't any prices. Thought one of you may know somewhere.

Jedimaster: thanks for the information about car hire. £110 per week sounds good, is that for an automatic or standard? I will check out that site.

Re: Car Hire In Accrington
Whenever I go back I have used Greyhound Ford on Whalley rd, not sure if its Clayton or Accrington, top of Dill Hall , yep they have automatics, if you still have a valid UK licence (or European) it may get you a cheaper rate on the insurance
http://www.greyhound-ford.co.uk/contact_us.html I used Gt. Harwood taxis at 1254-886835 to pick me up at Manchester airport , If your coming in from Canada , just a bit of advice , watchout on the bl**dy round-a-bouts, make sure you know which direction traffic is coming from.:D :D :D |
Re: Car Hire In Accrington
note to site moderaters, apologies if any parts of my previous post goes against any on-site advertising rules , if it does please delete, I assure you I have no financial interest in either of the companies I recomended.
thanks |
Re: Car Hire In Accrington
At work they use B.M.S. in Water Street, and also note that Arnold Clarke, Hyndburn Road/bottom of Dill Hall Lane advertises car hire.
Can't help with rates, but will try and find out for you. |

Re: Car Hire In Accrington
Many thanks for all the replies. I will be checking out all the local ones. I know where Greyhound garage is having lived next door but one to the TOP CLUB for 20 years.
I know what you mean about roundabouts, I usually end-up just going round a couple of times!! That is why I want an automatic I have to think about the roads (opposite side here in Canada) without having to change gear. I did drive for about 5 years in the UK before coming to Canada, and still have a licence (good until I'm 70) but it doesn't have a current UK address, so I usually just use my Canadian one. |
