Garage/Mechanic For Automatic Cars

Anyone know a garage/mechanic who specialises in automatic cars. Lots of garages won't touch them hence the question ?

Okay let me open this up. Anyone know a good garage where I can at least ask if they do automatics and I won't get ripped off ? :)

Hydnburn Autos can try dave, have used them since late 70s never had a complaint. though cant say about automatics,i never had one, but the guy will tell you a good un if they dont, near sure they do em though. tel- 01254 394518 pat, or peter -(mechanic)

right across from greyhound garage on whalley rd,just past stanley dave, up the unmade road about 15 ft.

Ask at Grange Lane Garage. Simon and Gary there, they look after all our cars (And I am extremely fuusy about who does stuff on my car)

I always use Empress Motors on Ellerbeck Road (01254-236609), I don't know if he does automatics (cant see why not), but I have always found Derek to be really nice, reasonable and his garage is really clean and tidy (must be a girl thing!).

Looks like the thread was in vain :(

I opted for the one that Entwisi posted purely because it is 2 minutes walk from where I live. Went down this morning and booked it in for a transmission fluid change on Wednesday morning.

On the M65 near Nelson this afternoon, the car decided it didn't want to wait until Wednesday and hitched a ride on a RAC Recovery truck with what looks like a dead gearbox and ultimateley if thats the case, the end of the cars life :mad:

Thanks for the suggestions anyway, and a big thanks to mthead and accymel for baling me out by getting my daughter back from school in Brierfield.

I may now start a new thread on the availablity of tandem bikes :D
