Baby boomers

I read an article the other day about Baby Boomers (mentioned on another thread) - apparently the generation that is classed as Baby Boomers is anyone born between 1946 and 1964. This amused me because my Mum was born in '46 and my Dad in '47 and I was born in '64. So at both ends of the 'generation'. Would anyone really want to be classed as being of the same generation as their parents (no matter how cool their parents are)?

I am one of those 'Baby Boomers' and to answer your question Gayle....I would not mind being classed in the same generation as my parents........and they were not the least bit 'cool'...though I think way back then it was called 'hip' or something like that.
My parents were indomitable, self reliant and persistent. They brought up seven of us on very little money......they gave us all a strong moral background and a healthy work ethic.......for which I thank them heartily.
We learned that every action has a consequence and rights came with responsibilities.
I would be proud and happy to be counted in their generation.

Gayle, with some of the teenage pregnancies nowadays you could almost class some as sisters and brothers

If we're putting name tags & handles to everyone, I'm Generation X.

I'm a baby boomer.

'Generation' is one of the most difficult concepts to understand. I have a cousin in the USA. From then viewpoint of our family tree she is of my generation, but from the viewpoint of her age group she would be my mother's generation. If generation was based solely on age my late husband would be of a different generation to his oldest brother!
:D

Not a porky.;)

I was due on the 4th December, 1964, but decided to stay in the warm, and popped out on 7th January, 1965. Therefore not offically a baby boomer.:D
