Re: Where??
I have reported the caller I had to scottish Power, and said if they are responsible for such calls, the practice is bringing their business into disrepute

I made one myself for junk mail: "What Part of No F***ing Junk Mail Do You Morons Not Understand." It didn't do any good but it looks great. I also have a picture of my Rotti with the legend "I Live Here". This discourages most unwanted callers. And when I say "Hera, JWs" she runs to the door and puts on her fierce act. |
Re: Where??
My daughter/Brown Owl works for Scottish Power, formerly MANWEB, in the office at Warrington. She thinks all the salesmen should be shot!
I made my own sticker, printed it off in very large red letters and stuck it on the porch door. It says, NO Salesmen, Reps, Lottery canvassers, Random charity collectors. If we haven't got it - we don't want it. On the odd occasion when one of the above still rings my doorbell I don't say anything, hand them a bundle of junk mail, leaflets etc., which tends to accumulate in the porch, and shut the door. ;) |

Re: Where??
Just complained by email to trading standards because their sign they gave me just DOESN'T WORK, i get them regardless & sick of pointing out the obvious all the time & i dont want to get to the point of not answering door to anyone [sometimes council & other people that call at the door] - not all door sales people have same dress code as found out earlier today from a very dodgey looking person from safe style today caught me out after seeing off my collector, whom resembled someone i knew whom isnt very nice, so just tad annoyed about the risk, cos doubt these sales people are vetted!!
What does it take these people to get the word no & fluff off!!! Personally door sales should be illegal or least criminal cos i felt a bit intimidated & off guard on my own, thats the worry for elderly or vunerable folk:mad: |
Re: Where??
MY god, how weird, Stanleymad posts this, and I get some at the door
They were from a window company, don't know which one, I didn't give them chance to tell me. 2 not so professional looking guys. I just said " No thank you " and shut the door. The thing is, I always feel ignorant, but if you don't shut the door in their face, you can't get rid of the buggers. |
Re: Where??
Blimey Slinky it were 2 one in a black coat sort of looks sales guyish - the other was more worrying blue sports coat work pants & boots with a bob hat on:eek:

You know the thing that kept going through my head was " Oh sh.. my back door is un-locked " now that tells you the kind of impression I got of them. |
Re: Where??
I got pestered last week by a sneaky looking bloke wanting to service my hoover. I always keep my door chain on, so didn't feel threatened.
The patter was 'I think I missed servicing yours last year - do you want it doing now?' My reply 'No and dont call next year either' PS I keep a shrill alarm by the door too |
