Got my reply from trading standards a bit of disconcerned reply but tried:(

Further to your enquiry to this Department regarding the continual calling
of doorstep sellers.

I must advise you that such sellers are entitled to call at your door, and
are not necessarily committing any offences in doing so.

This Department discourages consumers from doing any kind of business on
their doorstep, and I would applaud you in turning away callers, or refusing
to answer the door.

If you feel in any way threatened or intimidated by a doorsatep caller
please do not hesitate to call 999, as the Police are committed to assisting
Trading Standards with this kind of nuisance.

Thank you for your enquiry

Run a hose pipe through the house ..... that way you just need to poke it through the door :D

If you do it from up stairs, use something better than water ;):D

When I lived in Church I used to clear lads off the garage roofs in the back street by using a pressure washer.

This didn't deter them because they eventually burnt down both garages.

I didnt have my pressure washer handy at the time of the fires - was glad to see the end of those garages (knew there were no cars in them at the time)
