Red Elastic Bands

There seems to be red elastic bands on our pavements these days, every few hundred yards or so. Where are they coming from, are they being discarded by the postie as he does his rounds ? I’m thinking of the postman as the bands may be to hold his letters together or something. Is it just me that has noticed this

I sometimes ask my postie for some - he is always glad to get rid - they come in handy for sealing part used bags of frozen veg (instead of those fiddly twist ties)

Ahhh so it is the posties. You would think they would hang on to the bloody things or at least chuck 'em in the bin

They should take them back for re-using.

I've found quite a few in the front garden and had some posted through the letterbox!

It's harder for a tramp to smoke an elastic band, than it is a discarded fag end.;)

It is the postman and, like Willow said, they should take them back for re-using.

I'm always finding them on the drive and even next to the front door, my Mum used to be a postie she said that they'd get in a lot of trouble if anyone complained, I haven't complained, dont seem to have the same postman everyday or I'd mention it to them.

It's not just our postie then, just wondered where the bloody things were comin' from. It's not right good tho when your local Postman Pat is littering up the bloody town on a daily basis.

Agree its still litter, though thats nothing compared to the council who have left all our cardboard all over the place again, 2nd time they haven't collected:mad:

On another thread I saw that the bin chap who went around before the actual collectors was referred to as a “fluffer” ( apt name too ) You know the chap I mean, the one who puts the bins in position before the truck arrives, cardboard too for that matter. You must have the same fluffer as me mate :D
