how long?

does anyone know what the life span is for a rabbit?

have had mine for years and wondered when the inevitable is going to happen:(, one has already died last year, and just wondering if my rabbit as had a long life or average

so if my rabbits lived indoors they will live 9 -12 years, but outside they only live about 5-6 years.........emmmm I dont think that is right!

if its a white rabbit they last a few hours on the first of the month, by then i have killed all grannyclarets.:D

I used to have a rabbit. She died when she was 7 years old. I thought that this was a pretty average lifespan for a rabbit.

was she indoors or outdoors lilly?

mine have always been outdoors and my rabbit is 9 years old!!, so i dont understand why they say keeping them indoors they live longer:rolleyes:.......mine proves otherwise:D

When I posted the weblink which said that I read that the shorter lifespan in outdoor rabbits was due to exposure to predators, such as foxes and dogs etc.
It also says that the rabbit can be 'scared to death' by just being threatened (not attacked) by one.
There are more urban foxes about than you might think. I have seen several -- they attack chickens on the allottments near my home.

well i have had my rather large albino dwarf rabbit lol for 5yrs and i also oiften wounder too how long do they live for ?? also have a baby dwarf to she will be 2 in may

Mine lasted 4 years , that is good i think for a rabbit in the harsh conditions of accrington. :)

Have had several of different breeds; longest lived lasted til 8 years and always lived outside.
