Space Station ??

I got a phone call from my parents some 15mins ago, they live near Forfar in Scotland.

They asked me if I could see a bright star flashing in the night sky, looking south east. Well I can see something. Can only describe it as like a tight cluster of stars, it has what appears to be a red flashing light. I thought it was a plane at first.

I’m on Lodge St, and from the back bedroom window looking towards the Coppice. I only have half decent binoculars and a tripod.

Can anyone else see it, maybe someone has a decent telescope. Could it possibly be the Space Station

If its got a flashing light then it is a plane, the space ship/shuttle just looks light a bright star travelling quite fast, looking at the table for this week its viewable early mornings from Accrington

Well it’s still there, no apparent flashing at the moment, probably just atmospheric conditions causing the twinkling.

I rekon we are looking at the same thing tho, maybe just a bright star, but it’s in the general direction of where it should be visible KSH, thanks for the link. When you look at the “detailed star charts” on that site they don’t appear to know East from West…unless star charts work differently ?

I best ring mother and tell her, christ, she'll be watching it all night. Then again, it will give her something to do :D
