kitchen door's ?
 

im revamping my kitchen (got at least 3 yrs to wait for my new kitchen off hyndburn homes) & i need to get some unit doors & drawers just plain wood nothing fancy, in the "shaker style" & i can't for the life in me think of a place that does them, web searched all diy stores can you please give me some idea's where i can perhaps find some?.........thank you

I redid my kitchen cupboard doors 4 years ago.
Ivory Shaker style from B&Q
They were on half price offer then -bought them on their website - total cost then about £100 including new door knobs (8 doors+1 drawer)

I am due a kitchen refurb this year - but can't say I'm looking forward to the mess
-especially since they redo the bathroom consecutively -(remember what chaos AccyMel suffered!)

They are probably more now - after 4 years - not wood but paint sprayed MDF
- worth looking at B&Q site
You need to measure very precicely in metric.
.. and hope that the hinge fitting holes are in the same place on the new ones - mine were - they were fitted, by me, within 2 hours of delivery - but then I am an old hand at DIY :D

What about Howdens near Asda.....it might be worth a look...they do that kind of thing.

All kitchen units are now to a standard size no matter whether its MFI, B&Q, Homebase or whatever, they are always in metric one metre or 1/2 metre sizes. All the screw holes and fittings are the same. Quite a lot of them are coated with a thin plastic film to imitate wood, very easily scratched. Nowt wrong wi proper wood, lasts longer and can be stripped and varnished a different colour.

They are about the only thing that has been standardised, I know plumbing fittings are supposed to be, but I have found different thread and nut sizes for the same thing, especially on central heating radiators, fortunately I have a lathe, milling machine, and a large range of threading sizes, so I can adapt a lot of the silly sizes to fit.

I would go to B&Q. They quite often have very good sales on kitchen doors/units etc. If they don't at the moment it might be worth waiting a while till they do it again.

thanks for the replies........ the lad who fixed my new fan in the kitchen today did mention howdens mrs p, nice one mrs r, found a website early this avo rock solid kitchens they don't seem too bad either, but i bet i get them at b & Q because i don't do metric so the lads there will help me, they usually do,:D at the min im covered in white paint just had a break for a brew & ciggie .............

Why do you mean you don't do metric, all DIY tape measures have metric on them, Inches along the top edge and MM (mickey mouse) measurements on the lower edge, extend to 39 3/8th inches and you should find 1 metre, 1000 mickey mouses.

Ok it says inches, but measured my units, both my daughters units, my sisters units and next doors, they are all metric, none of those doors advertised would come close to fitting any of them.
It does say in the advert Chidwell Cabinet doors in inches I'll agree, but
I don't think B&Q could or would fit them to standard kitchen units.

There is a firm on Victoria St Accrington last unit on left before Nuttall St,
I dealt with them when I fitted out my youngest daughters first house, all their stuff is metric, designed around the 1 metre and 1/2 metre standard unit sizes, they will make thing to measure.
