Re: Who should i vote for ?

Depends who answers Mumtotwo ... :D

Didn't think any candidates in Clayton ... although are you in Altham Ward?

Only two up for election :-

Susan Haworth .. Conservative.
Paula Christine Landers .. Labour.

If Jaysay/Cyfr replies, they will adise you on Susan Haworth.
If G. Jones comes on, then Paula Christine Landers.

:D:D

Sorry, can't campaign for either I am afraid .. the decision is yours.
Suppose is a matter of deciding whether you think the Conservatives have improved Hyndburn over the last few years; if not, then vote Labour.
There again, if you know any of the two ladies, then you may have personal feelings towards them.

Re: Who should i vote for ?

unfortunately its not easy to say. It depends on so many factors, your view of politics, whether a councillor has helped you out previously and whether you think teh council is better in teh hand of teh current shower(Conservatives) or teh other shower(Labour). TBH you can't really trust what any of them say as they will by their very nature tell you what you want to hear at this moment.

The way I look at it is

Do I Think I'm geting value for money for my council tax?
Have they done anything that benefits me ( free leisure etc)
Do I trust them with this years council tax to do the best they can with it?
Are they more interested in self than my community

If they above is favourable then stick with teh current lot, If you think we need to change then your only real option is Labour. I'm not saying they will do better only that it will be different.

Re: Who should i vote for ?

In the local elections I tend to vote for the councillor who has been seen to be there for the constituents of his/her ward.

I also think that this is used as a bit of a shakeup/vote of confidence for the current Government. I think Mr Blair and now Mr Brown have done no end of damage to the country so cannot bring myself to vote for them, although I have no real sway towards anyone locally

It's quite sad that it's got to polling day and you are still unsure who to vote for.

It's not your fault, it sounds as if the political parties in your ward have missed out on securing your vote by not giving you enough information to decide.

It is not that simple. If you decided the current lot are no good for your needs you need to decide if any of the others will do it any better.
