you only need to use a little for both but yes there may be a few scratches on them ( but would would see them on the window )

also the vanish paste you can get from the pound shop works... or neat bleach....

I always use CIF the white cream, it smells nice too and it gets all the muck off;)

I bought some Ajax cream cleaner yeterday when I was in accy. I think I will try that tomoz!! It seems to be good on all the other stuff I use it on.

Thanks everyone for your idea's. I am gonna give my Ajax a try tomoz.... other than that!! I'll start at the top of this list of things that you have all suggested and work my way down :D I'll end up with no bloody windows hahaha

any household cream cleaner,the stuff you clean the bath with will do the job.

All my window frames are white UPVC and, apart from the kitchen ones and the French windows which I have renewed within the last 10 years, have been in situ for about 23 years. I noticed the bedroom windowsills, particularly, were looking a bit grey so I bought some special stuff from Kleen-eze that was supposed to clean them up. Don't waste your money on it - it doesn't work. In the end I used Flash with bleach. They're a bit less shiny now but you can't see that from the ground and they did come up a lot whiter.

At least you can paint wood window frames. Good wood ones will last longer and are a better heat insulator than plastic. Wood is more secure as well. The same goes for doors as well as windows.

soz been away for while; vinger and lemon in some water gets though any dirt and grame try it it works a treat ;
