Any mention of the Commercial corner?

Re: Pennine reach?

I've printed the leaflet out and it looks like its going to replace Elmans Folly or Church traffic lights, although there is no road names on the map. The only time the traffic flows with ease is when the lights arn't working so this should be a big impovement

When were the pelicans sacked and their jobs given to toucans?

churchman phil 05-06-2008 17:29

Re: Pennine reach?

Road names are there albeit very faint. Henry Street is top right and Union Road is bottom left.
Toucans haven't replaced pelicans, they are a new alternate crossing for use on cycle routes and can be used by pedestrians as well.

I had one through my door yesterday, this was centred on Ossy, but don't really apply to me I don't use buses

I received mine too.

Though the map of the proposal is so faint, and the writing so tiny, I can't give an informed opinion until I've got my microscope out.

yeah we got them in Blackburn too, i think its a great idea, we obviously got a different booklet than Accy folk but the changes look excellent to me

Re: Pennine reach?

I've just been along to the Ossy consultation and seen a lot of unhappy people.

From my perspective (possibly quite a selfish one but I can only base these things on how they're going to affect me), I see it as a positive. There will be a 70 space car park right outside the theatre and the bus routes will be delivering people to the bus stops outside the theatre every 12 minutes.

It may even encourage me to get a bus more often as the route will be very convenient.

WillowTheWhisp 24-06-2008 20:39

Re: Pennine reach?

Well that sounds quite good. Will the buses run in the evenings?

"more often" - out of interest how often do you catch a bus and when was the last time?

We used a tour Bus in London the other month. Before that I think it might have been about 6 years since I caught a bus and that was only because we thought Sam would to.

Gayle 25-06-2008 07:35

Re: Pennine reach?

Not often, I admit . Perhaps I should have just said 'it may even encourage me to get a bus' and left out the 'more often' bit. ;)

I don't get the bus now because I have a car or I walk.

Neil 25-06-2008 07:52

Re: Pennine reach?

I have not choice than to drive to work. I think by thinking of the car as an essential makes me use it more than I should.
