Re: Does anyone know
It's actually all concrete rubble on reclaimed land which has a very thin layer of topsoil on. Nothing much to anchor into unless you have very. very strong pegs. :D We managed it with heavy duty ones and even through the worst of weather last summer the tent stayed up and in place!
The view of the power station does leave a lot to be desired though and the beach isn't exactly a beach - but if you don't mind walking a bit there is a lovely stretch of beach between Heysham and Morecambe. |

If you fancy going a bit further there's a beautiful campsite near Corfe in Dorset.
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/de...asp?revid=1220 Incidentally it's the exact location for Mike Leigh's classic play Nuts in May, and hasn't changed at all since this was filmed in 1976. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h95ZBby1WgY By the way, I think they accept nuts there all year round, not just in May.:D |
