Who are they trying to kid?

Whilst looking for something else on Mothercare.com i came across a birthing pool, now i realise why so many men think child birth is easy cos one of the most well known companys for selling pregnancy/baby equipment is portraying labour like this.....*see pic*
http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product...64041&mcb=core
They dont call it labour for nothing :o
So come on ladies......want to share your birthing experiences?
Any birthing partners/dads want to share too?

LOL. That woman in the picture looks like she's passed out after too much wine. :D

My two children were both born at 37 weeks for two totally different reasons.

With my first I had to be induced at 37 weeks as my liver was packing up....they call it obstetric cholestasis, (I'd never heard of it before either) very scary and life threatening for mum and baby. Happily, delivery of the baby solves the problem and I have had no liver problems since.
Natural birth, contractions came thick and fast, extremely painful. No wish to repeat natural induced birth.

My second baby was breech so I was booked in for a caesarean at the end of August. However, she had other ideas and I went into labour 3 weeks early. We hotfooted it to the hospital and I was given a caesarean under epidural.....what bliss. :D
Her birth was a marvellous experience that I would repeat again and again....if I had the money, houseroom etc. to have a 3rd child.

When my kids were born there was no such thing as the father being there holding the wifes hand, they told you in no uncertain terms where to go and get from under't feet, I didn't need asking twice:D

You were of the generation that paced hospital corridors and only entered the room once the labour was over and the wife was sitting up in bed, holding the baby and they were both cleaned and washed. ;)

Today's father has much more gruesome sights, sounds, smells to contend with before he gets a look at his baby.

The main thing wrong with those images - no way can she give birth wearing a swimming cossie.

I was a bit quicker than that Lilly, my first was born at 2.57pm on 24th March 1968, Mothers day, I arrived at 3.00pm spot on and the little bundle was in the cot unwashed, crying for England, then I got a b********g because I hadn't brought a Mothers Day card, Wemen:rolleyes:

At least you were man enough to forego the match.

Good for you. :)

Some fellas wouldn't.

I once heard of a football match where at half time the words 'Joe Bloggs you are now the father of a little girl' were written accross the lit up screen.

I don't really want to believe that this isn't a joke. :(
