Mobile Phone Contracts

Just a quick silly question<

Say i went today to a mobile phone shop like t-mobile or 02 and wanted to get a contract phone would i have to pay ANYTHING today? Would i have to pay the first month in advance or pay any other charges? Im saying this im in need of a mobile phone and my wages dont come in till 2 weeks.

Can anyone answer please :)

Thanks

Re: Mobile Phone Contracts

Depends on price of phone. If its free then usually the first payment is due next month.

Depends on the phone and contract.

What phone have you desided on and which network?

If the phones free you shouldnt have to pay anything until a month after.

Cant remember but I would h ave thought that as long as you take one of their free 0phones you would only need your bank details for a standing order and you would be alright.

Main thing is negotiate with them don't take what they offer straight away, ask for extras like hands free set etc - free of course

i would say DO NOT get a contract phone, as they can be real pigs to get rid off at the end of contract, if fer some reason ya aren't happy, they tell you to put it in writing etc etc, then pester you fer the next 9-12 months about re-newing,i had no end of trouble when i ended mine.:(

3 did that with me, just cancelled the direct debit, got a call not long after and told them I was registered with TPS and they shouldn't be calling me, never heard from them after that :D

Just call at month 11 and give notice, no probs, job done

You don't need to pay anytning up front with most contract phones, you don't even need to keep teh phone. I tooka 12 month Voda contract out a few months ago, I received a C702 phone which I ebayed without even opening the box, went to a bloke in Norway for £170 + postage. I use my unlocked e90 with the sim, its superb.

You will probably find though that you can get a better deal or even a major cashback by going through quidco. My voda contract came with 90 quid back going via quidco first.
