Do you read?

Books I mean, and if so what?? Just curious (or maybe that should be nosey).

I'll read basically anything and am always on the lookout for something else to read.

I love books and can't imagine not reading, but I know a lot of people who never read.

What do you read and roughly how much?

Re: Do you read?

I only read books that I really want to read. I never read for the sake of reading. At the moment I've got the complete works of Oscar Wilde on the go, as always, and quite an obscure book called The Politics of God by Hugh J. Schonfield.

Re: Do you read?

I stopped reading a few years ago. There's not much being written these days that's worth the investment in time. I was a big fan of Tom Clancy until a book where he just wrote out a couple of characters two-thirds of the way through, with no explanation as to their presence in the first place; and another where he'd just printed the subtitles/plot from one of his computer games. Up to then, his techno-thrillers had been well thought out and imaginative.

Same with PD James and a few other formulaic writers. I'm usually quite bullish with books, and once I start I refuse to give up- no matter how bad it is or how long it takes. These days, though, I can't afford the time.

I read at least 3 books a week....mainly from the library or charity shops.
Chick lit, biographies, poems and factual books.....and lots of 'kipper' books at the moment with my lil' man.
I absolutely love reading-im glad i take after my mum who always has her head in a book rather than my fathers side-who are mostly illiterate :(

I thought I was the only one read horror these days. What about Dennis Wheatley though. He seems to be an overlooked author these days. Does anybody read their books over and over?
