secret satisfaction.....
I know this is really, really bad but recently i saw a picture of one of my exes with his new girlfriend.......and she was erm.......not very pretty and fatter than me *haha*
It really cheered me up (i know-im sad) and wondered if this had happened to anyone else? Any of my other exes and i wouldn't have given two hoots but it was my ex that decided to have nothing to do with our son (suited me just fine) so it was just another point for me-along with the other million points where he lost out watching jack grow into the amazing little boy he has become. It was brilliant knowing i ended up with someone so much fitter (yea Corker dont deny it-your gorgeous:p) and i turned out fitter than my ex did too (although he was a v popular,'wanted' lad at college when i was with him, i wouldn't go with him now).....im so glad Jack looks more like me :D so i wana hear your stories about seeing your ex with their new girlf/boyfs......ever laughed out loud (BY ACCIDENT OF COURSE) when you saw your ex? Ever felt like i do right now? 1-0 :dflam: |

Think about it this way misskitty, he is missing out on the joys of bringing Jack up. When I see my first husband I just think about all the things he has missed while my two were growing up and even quite a lot of the joys of the grandchildren. I can look back on the happy years that I had with Ianto and the kids and just think to myself that he missed out on so much.
Just count your blessings in having found Corker who I have no doubt will continue to make you happy and will be proud to bring your little boy up. You have got a good one there just enjoy your lives together:) |

Thankyou Bernie.....Corker and Jack are the best things that have ever happened to me.....i count my blessings everyday and always tell/show them how much they are appreciated <3 <3 <3

The best way you can do that is by making a success of what you have got(no doubts on that score). Ironically my ex's Dad came to my wedding to Ian, we were quite close. When he came down to visit his daughter he always used to search us out. Told me I was the best thing that happened to his son, which in itself gave me some satisfaction:)

The other real comment I can make is they always make me feel old as have all been younger than me lol But I'm happier now than ive ever been so cant say it bothers me at all seeing him with other girls |

I live with a lass in the 70s, she was a very attractive green eyed natural blond, I met her whilst woring on the door at the Cav. I lived with her for two years then we split, we wern't that compatable really. I never saw her again for years, but I heard she got married and had a few kids. I was in the Asda a few years ago and I could hear this voice and recognised it right away, it was my ex, the only thing was I didn't recognise the image, she had let herself go that much. from being a slim vivasious blond she had turned into a very overweight person, still very smartly dressed, but she must have put around 8 or 9 stone on, I didn't stop to say hello, but passed by very quitely and out through the door:rolleyes:

I once saw an ex of mine down Accy with some hideous specimen. She was old, fat and ugly and...horror of horrors....appeared to have been sick down her top but wasn't bothered, he had his arm round her and they were trotting into a pub together! :eek:
I was most offended! I wondered how he could be with me and then go with that. :confused: I thought about it for ages and even thinking about it now I'm horrifed. I'd rather have seen him with someone fresh and beautiful then at least I'd know he'd always had good taste. :D |

Me neither! I've got about half a dozen ex-boyfriends from when I was at school but they were the "sweet and innocent" types of relationship. Boring old me got married and stayed a (faithful) wife until I became a widow. ;)

A couple of months ago it was my nieces 21st birthday and we were going through all the old photos of my niece.
Now at her christening which i was a godmother my boyfriend at that time came with me. He lived in Clitheroe and i used to go over every weekend and meet up with him after work on saturday and then go to the footie - he played for sabden. Anyway he was on these photos - i didnt recognise him. It was my brother-in-law who said who it was!!! But i found out what he is doing now through work. He used to work for his sister ..... now he works for the Lancashire Football Association in fact i only know this because i had to write to him from work ....... but talk about looking old!!!! He looks a damn sight older than what he did when he was younger. |

There was one guy that i still thought about even tho i havent seen him for 8 years, and thought 'what if?' in my mind he was gorgeous and perfect and fantastic...... i saw a pic of him the other day and thought 'naaaaah!!' lol, its always better in your head. What does it matter who your ex is currently with? Especially if you are with someone new yourself. If the past is over, it's over. To keep dwelling on it and feeling any sort of malice towards the ex seems to indicate that you haven't really got over the break up and moved on. Otherwise why would it matter?
As for what people look like, well I consider personality and character to be far more important than looks. I remember one very handsome young man I went out with but he was about as interesting as a wet Wednesday in Wigan. All he cared about was himself and being gorgeous. If you set too much store on what someone looks like what would happen if they were disfigured in an accident? Would you cease to love them? So these ex-boyfriends who now have girlfriends whom you consider to be unattractive are perhaps not so shallow and looking at the real person, the person within the physical shell and love them for what matters more than mere appearance. If I saw an ex-boyfriend with a new girl I would be happy for him that he had found someone else. I know plenty of people who are friends with the wives of guys they used to go out with and one ex of mine became a close friend of my late husband and friend of all the family. |

When I left my ex he tried to make me jealous by giving me a full blown account of the first sexual encounter with his new girlfriend, commenting on how many times he 'pleased' her.
I replied 'shame you could never do that for me'. I felt smug enough just off that but then I saw her bingo wings, fake hair and fake tan and laughed my head off. All in the comfort of my own home of course on my computer screen. He tried to make me jealous and I ended up thinking good riddance. That must've stung. |

I haven't had that happen to me exactly but I once ran into an ex (for the first time since we'd broken up) when I was out on the town looking significantly more fantastic than usual. It wasnt just that he looked regretful, but more that it so easily could have happened when I was doing a supermarket run with a hangover and greasy hair.
It's shallow but these little things do make you feel good. |
