You don't go up Glen Rd from memory, I'll just check the map and let you know.

Re: Glen PF, Rossendale

Having checked the map it won't be the one on Glen Rd I don't think. Thats actually next to the Grammar School. 99% certain the Glen playing fields are the ones on top of the hill. As you go through Waterfoot in the Bacup direction the pitches are on the right hand side, about 20,000 feet up :D You can't see them from the road.

When I can find a detailed enough map I'll let you know, you actually go past them then double back along an unmade road !!

Re: Glen PF, Rossendale

I used to live there as a kid and played on the pitches against the Grammar School. When my daughter was playing there season before last it took me a couple of goes to find it. The route you take walking as a kid is nowhere near the route you go by car :D

Don't forget your camera, you can see the end of the world up there on a clear day, and if it's foggy the match will be off, it's not fog, it's low clouds :D

Fairly sure the one on Glen Rd is an astroturf pitch for the grammar school.

If it assists my club to get some new players then why not. Find it's better and not immoral like poaching players from other clubs

Glossop in January during a snow storm. All very cosy when you can wrap up warm but running up and down a line trying to grip a flag handle with blue hands for 90 minutes exposes you to the elements quite a bit :D
