To be quite honest I don't use salt (only for cooking) or sugar and haven't done for years, I use sweeteners in my coffee and have done for years, and don't put salt on my food, stopped that about three years ago. I eat a lot of fresh veg and at least 3 pieces of fruit a day, a whole grapefruit, an apple and a banana, and I'm still knackered:D

Thats very interesting Margaret, although I use Splenda, which isn't mentioned. the fact is your damned if you do and damned if you don't on the sweetener issue, the thing is I can't drink tea or coffee without anything in

How Sucralose (aka Splenda) Is Made And Why You Want To Avoid It « Life With my Kids
Use Stevia - a natural herbal sweetener

Re: Does anybody have any weetabix in their cupboards?

Just done a quick calculation of how many sweetners I have taken over the last 48years. 65 years minus 17 = 48 x 364 = 17,472 x average of 5 coffees per day, 2 in each cup = 174,720 ... average.

Will be saccharine though ... no ill effects as I know of .. :D
Good news is, not overweight. :)

I doubt you wil find any in Accrington. I have looked at the Holland & Barrett website and they dont sell it.
There are numerous online sources - here are just two
Stevia Powder - 250g Natural Sweetener : www.TheSuperFoodCo.co.uk!- The Superfood People
Stevia Leaf Extract - Calorie-Free Sweetener

It may look expensive but it is far sweeter than sugar so you only need a very tiny amount to sweeten your tea and coffee

I don't use it. I drink unsweetened tea and coffee, and only use sugar in baking, and use honey on porridge and in smoothies
