What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
Hi People!
I am thinking of buying some property at the bottom end of Scaitcliffe Street to rent out. I would like to know what the area is like to live in. It seems quite a busy street with alot of through traffic...and close to the main road at the bottom with plenty of shops. I would be grateful for any feedback! |

Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
When I was flat hunting on the web a few weeks ago I saw that on the block between the bridge and Blackburn Rd there were flats to let.
Interior photos looked nice but location is a bit iffy |

Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
Thanks guys...this is being real helpful. I am not sure now if I should buy. The cobbles on the street have been kept as a feature maybe to attract more people to the area?

Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
MargaretR...the flats that your talking about...behind them there is some kind of yard...does anyone know anything about that. It doesnt really look rough but the railway runs by and yard etc makes it look abit industrial.

The agent's ad said that a parking space was provided so I presumed that is where the parking is. Many years ago, before those new houses were built opposite, my gran lived in a 'back to back' next to the railway line - not really an ideal place to live. I recall that building was once occupied by an electrical contracting business. Whoever has spent a lot of money making those flats nice is not likely to get a buyer who will occupy, but rental income is likely, if the rent is set a bit more modestly to account for the undesirable location. |

Thanks for that MargaretR!

Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
they look nice but are awful to live in
AWFUL! Some serious sound issues it has, ive been there a week and im moving out. Pigeons are always in the area, tons of them and they crap all over the place. The secure 'parking area' will fit a car at either side and thats it. The electric doors to the back found their way into the middle of the street this morning at the back is a scrapyard, that is open 24 hours supposedly you can see my experience with hometrader here http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ies-26251.html |
Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
oh BTW
the rent is £495 for 3 bedroom upstairs and £395 for 2 bedrooms on ground floor |
Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
u've got the shops nearby etc but its not an ideal place. loads of traffic over there and people are always cutting up scait st. as a short cut to a few other areas
its maybe ideal for a single person kinda thing but not more than that |
Re: What is Scaitcliffe Street like to live
