Well, I'll admit it now to cleanse my soul ... I do not make my own yorkshire puddings any more ... get them out of the frozen food compartment at Asda.
Sorry ... :o

yes I do not

if you adopted the same policy you will be amazed at how refreshing it is to be able to look at everybody straight in the eye

PS I can usually tell when someone is lying to me if I look in their eyes - the 'shutters are up' at the back of their eyes

i have to apologise suzy my comments earlier... they were not meant to be critical i just offered what has happened in our house... i think your point that you were trying to "outfox the fox" was lost on some people ... when i came back later and saw the comments that your post had brought i was shocked... .. i am not as i said a perfect mum and i have made a lot of mistakes.. what i should have said after was ... my kids are 20.. 22.. and 24 and they are all fine .. one of my kids caught me out .. i told him it was 9.00pm when it was only 8.45pm because by the time he messed around coming in .. getting supper... etc etc etc ... it would be way past his bedtime .. however .. his friend had a watch... and it all ended up in a big row... i was forgiven the same evening but that is family....

I think you should descend from the cloud you are on in cuckoo land Margaret!!

You don't know me from Adam. I DESPISE lies by anybody but I am not naive and blinkered to know that sometimes these 'little white lies' are beneficial in some circumstances.
Like emamum stated above people say things (little white lies) to make others feel better - do you honestly think that person will be suffering from pangs of guilt for the rest of the day? NO.
If everyone told her she looked like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards (sorry Ema for using you as an example) - whilst maybe true then that would certainly have hurt her feelings.

The fact you say you don't tell little white lies is in itself a little white lie.

EVERYBODY DOES!!!!

Don't judge 'everybody' by your own standards.
I long for the day when our lost ability to be telepathic returns.
..we would then be able to see the truth..until then, if more people adopted a policy of absolute honesty, that would help

I don't express an opinion if I suspect it will offend - that is why I don't need 'white lies'

Sometimes what is not said, is as telling as what is......and can actually be more hurtful.
Yes......I have to admit that I have told white lies.......I have told some grey ones too.
I don't have to justify why I have done these things other than to say 'Hey, I am human, and therefore fallible'.......If I am taken to task on the day of judgement(if there is one) then I will answer to the only person that can be my judge.

I think the world would be incredibly harsh if it were not for a white lie or two.

And for the record, I think what we consider as 'white lies' and what the government call white lies, are continents apart.

Re: Little white lies

What?? Where did telepathy come into it??
I am also not judging everybody, it is just life.

Did you have this all truth outlook as a child? NO
A teenager? NO
Early 20's? I doubt it.

Little White Lies are a daily occurence by everyone on the planet.
