They were there at about ten thirty and there were a lot of them but do you not think there can be to many police? I suppose they know what they are dealing with though:(

In my view, Bernie, there shouldn't be a need for any, firstly, because rival supporters should be able to indulge in a bit of friendly banter without resorting to violence and, secondly, because Accringtonians should be totally indifferent to this match and should instead be drowning their sorrows in an attempt to forget Bournemouth's unjustified win yesterday. But, then again, I'm just a footballing idealist. ;)

Incidentally, I wouldn't have minded having some cops around when I walked into a pitched battle in the Pickwick after a Boxing Day derby in 1976 and promptly got lamped in the face by a Rovers fan who obviously mistook me for a Claret. I didn't know what to be more indignant about - getting punched or being mistaken for a Burnley fan! :D

A punch only hurts for a short while Wynonie, but being classed as a Dingle is a stigma hard to get rid of:D

I would suggest you are making that up. We know from various posters on here that there is only one set of fans that cause the trouble
