There was a pet shop just down from the railway arch on Whalley Rd in the early 70's. I think it is a hairdressers now, or it was a few years ago.

Can I mention it being handy for the Chinese across the road, no, better not!

I'm not sure just where you mean but was it Bradshaws . . . . . owned by one Walter Bradshaw?

No, from your description I am wrong Cashman. Bradshaws would have been left at the top of Broadway. Looking at my Accrington street map, I am guessing that it was on the corner of Whalley Road and Meadow Street. Walter Bradshaw was a noted breeder and shower of dogs . . . . . . cairn terriers come to mind, but I could be even more wrong on that. I am going back to the late 40s/early 50s here.
