Wheat Packs?
 

:confused:Physiotherapist has suggested I try them on my painful joints.Does anyone know the best place to obtain them? Please.:confused:

Home and Bargain usually have them(around £2.99)....and i think Ossy Mills have them, but a bit dearer.

I don't understand how the wheat factor is relevant to pain relief.
My reasoning is that it is no different than using a hot water bottle.

If you want serious pain relief without pills I suggest a liquid rubbed in the skin.

I've been using one for months now Beni the one I'm using now cost 19 quid but it covers my back, shoulders and neck and it does work in conjunction with DF118s:D I got mine mail order

wheatbags are safer than a hot water bottle and actually keeps the heat longer .. i have 2 of them .. plus they normally have lavender in them ....

i think theyre better than a hot water bottle .. plus easier to heat up .. stick them in the microwave for a minute or two ..

i get mine from a shop in haslingden .. theyre cheaper ..

and the occupational therapist said they were better for my mum rather than a hot water bottle .. though mum was traditional .. and wouldnt use them!!!:D

I can see now why wheat - its just a better heat retention medium.

For several years I took distalgesics at often the maximum dose every day.
When they were withdrawn from NHS prescriptions, I was issued with that paracetemol codeine combo Solpadol, and became addicted. I decided to find a healthier way to relieve pain.
I last used them when I had dental abcesses about 2 years ago.
Now I don't even take a straight paracetamol and painful days are now fairly rare.
I think this pain reduction is due to detoxing.
My osteoarthritis(neck, shoulders, knees and feet) hasn't been cured. I still get pain some days but Soothanol X2 gives instant relief, without the risk of damage to my liver.

Anne got ours from Home & Bargain i was a bit sceptical about them until i did my back in and believe me peter they really work,just pop them in the microwave for a min or two.
they are much better than a hot water bottle as you can wrap them right round the area where they are needed

You don't risk scalding yourself with a wheat pack.

Pouring boiling water into a bottle can be dangerous, I'm surprised that I have lived for over 40+ years without serious harm doing this dangerous act :D :D

Is a wheat pack standard NHS type medicine or is it the homoeopathic untested suck it and see, no quality control on the ingredients type medicine?

I've heard, though I haven't yet googled wiki for the truth that such things as lavender are added by some disreputable dealers to make them more addictive!

Home & Bargain have them at the same price as well. I got a couple for Rhonda the other day after reading this thread.

I laughed when the instructions say you can microwave them, heat them in and electric oven but not a gas oven.
