I've only had my wheelie bin a few weeks too - but have noticed that I no longer seem to get a free bin bag from HBC - they were very good because they were a lot bigger that the ones you get from the supermarket.

I always recycle my carrier bags for use in waist bin.
And then put it all in a black bag.
