Re: A question bout Accy Asda
Who cares when it opened? This cesspit - more than Britcliffe, economic recessions or planning stupidity has been more responsible for the decline of Accy Market & Hall than 'owt else. The sooner it shuts, the better.

Today - ASDA 50% market share/Accy Market 50% market share December - ASDA 33% market share/Tesco 33% market share/Accy Market 33% market share. In other words, Accy Market & Hall will lose about half it's current business. You can say goodbye to any illusion that this new Tesco will attract any new shoppers into the town; there will be a few who previously shopped at Tesco Blackburn who will shop at Accy and that will be it. |
Re: A question bout Accy Asda
Tesco customers biggest problem will be the traffic alright if you live up richmond road way but the other way towards the town I think there will be trouble more so at weekend

Re: A question bout Accy Asda
should probably be a new thread , but how do you (accy web users) decide which supermarket to use , is it by price ? location ? staff ? or just habit ....... where I live I have 2 supermarkets , Luckys and Safeway , on opposite sides of the street , one means crossing opposing traffic the other an extra red light , prices from the weekly adverts are pretty much the same .
In my case I think its more habit that I use one particular store ...I know where to find stuff , neighbours prefer the other store , say the milk is better ... can't see it myself , but . So question is what makes you pick one over the other for one stop shopping , we also have a Saturday "farmers market" supposedly selling 'picked yesterday' produce from the central valley selling mis-shapen 'organic' fruit and veg at 25% over the supermarket prices which folks attend out of civic guilt , though I must add in my case its the only place I can buy samosas and boiled unshelled peanuts , listen to street musicians and meet the local politicos out scavanging for votes for the upcoming National and State elections . :D ;) |
Re: A question bout Accy Asda
I use the large Supermarkets for convenience, easy disable parking and everything under one roof on a level floor.:)
What we need is a large building in the centre of town housing Independent traders competing against each other on a fair basis.:D:D Not sure what it could be called.:confused: |
