Has anybody ever worked at Clayton Park Bakery? Thought of trying for a job there but had heard that they expect you to work all hours. :eek:

Guess so but i`d heard from someone that they expected them to work 14 hours one sunday. Dont mind long shifts but thats a bit too much wouldnt you agree? :(

seems times have changed did 2 years 7 days 12hr shifts in early 80s n every second sunday was 16 hrs to change from days to nights, now people bitch about 14 hrs ONE sunday, Beats Me.:rolleyes:

I take it you don't agree with the Working Time Directive - it is a rubbish bit of half adopted Euro legislation as far as I am aware.

Quite right cashy I can remember starting at 7am one Friday morning, and due to circumstances didn't finish until 10pm Saturday night, but in those days 14 hours a day 7 days a week was common place with one weekend of every three:rolleyes:

As far as I'm concerned if people want to work 7 days a week why should politicians try and stop them, if people like the 9 to 5, 5 days a week fair enough, but don't force it on others who don't

I once worked at accy contelnentle bakers on heys lane on nights it was hard work but it was a job

I dont mind working long hours. My last job was for 18 years. Most of the past 5 years ive slaved in a factory on 12 hour nights for little over the minimum wage & poor facilities so im not work shy. My point was that they shouldnt expect you to work 14 hours straight when you have office staff sat on there ass all day who moan about working 9 hours grrrr
