Coppice Parking
 

Have tried searching on the site to see if this subject has come up before but haven't found anything..

As an Accy ex pat exiled in London, when visiting, one of my first port of calls is a walk up the Coppice. When i'm feeling fit, i'll walk up the front but when i'm feeling lazy, i'd drive the car down the A56 bypass at the back of the Coppice, towards Huncoat and park up in the parking space/layby just before the exit for Accrington and walk up the back way.

Last time i was home though, i discovered that either the council or the Highways Agency had closed it..

I'm just wondering why? Anybody know?

dunno mate was up last spring that way n parked in that lay-by then.:confused: one of our councilor members should be able to suss it out fer ya, if they read this.;)

i think its been closed permanently ... well according to this it has ..

if you click on the plan .. it calls it northbound 6 .. .and thats been closed ...

Southbound layby 6 has now been upgraded and reopened. Very handy as somebody has dumped a bus in it and why on Earth they shut the most popular parking spot in the area with it's great views is just beyond me
