Oil Drum

Where will i get an old oil drum from? I desperately need one to burn a heck of a lot of brambles and twigs and bushes that i've chopped down in the garden, if i don't get rid of them Twin Valley will be on my case, any suggestions welcome

Re: WANTED Oil Drum

Try a local garage workshop Shaz, but to be honest I think you'll be hard pushed to find much with scrap metal prices as they are.

would an old galvanized metal bin not do just as well?
Not that I have one of those, but someone on here might just have one that they would lend you....the power of Accyweb is boundless.

I was on about one of those with my dad earlier Marg, he said they aren't as thick as an oil drum and with the heat wouldn't last long, they sell them for £20 in Wilkinsons, i was going to get one until he changed my mind

but if someone has one of the old ones..... which we did until it was pinched by the itinerant metal collectors...they were quite thick and we used to burn stuff in ours......failing that it looks like you are going to have to build a brick one :)

Shaz it doesn't need to be built properly, just stack the bricks making sure there are some air gaps....if you know what I mean...sort of offset the bricks so that it isn't a solid wall.......your brambles will burn a treat.
