Microwave paint?
 

I bought a new microwave just over 12 months ago, the inside paint has started coming off due to me spraying it with flash so much whilst cleaning it (yeah i know i shouldn't) is there such a thing as microwave paint? That you can put on the inside?

Never heard of a specialist paint for the inside of microwaves but am wondering if something like Hammerite might do??? Hammerite is suitable for objects which become hot. I once painted a gas fire with it, it lasted years.

Just out of curiosity had a look in ours, fraid you've knackered yours, ours is like an enameled finish inside, there is one solution, if you can still get that spray on non stick stuff. Ordinary paint won't do.
Hammerite will stink for ages, and its turps based, so it could be ages before the fumes have dropped low enough to risk plugging it in again.

I wouldn't paint it Shaz......I would dump it and get a fresh one. I would be very worried about what the paint would do to the food.
Mick was giving one away recently...too bad that has gone, but you never know another one might come up soon.

Thanx for all the advice, think i will just save up and get a new one, its a shame really, this one aint that old and it goes with my kitchen, it's red

when you do get a new one Shaz...go sparingly with the Flash.
You could always take it back and tell them that the paint has started coming off and you wonder if it is a manufacturing fault......don't mention the Flash!

Use the next one with a bit more care, always put a cover over food being nuked, then it will contain the splashes, just wipe down with a damp cloth, when needed.
By the way Asda's own brand baked beans explode & pop more than Tesco's or Branstons.

The one we ended up with was from Argos in there new catalogue its the Russle Hobbs combination microwave ,oven and grill £165 we got it for £79:00 and has a stainless steel interior so no paint to flake off

Mick, the older ones have that interior, they where brilliant, huge but really good

We got a similar model and I found out if you put Yorkshire Puddings on the top shelf at top heat you get a lot of smoke. The puddings went into the garden and even the slugs ignored them. It did it's job well as long as it was used by someone with more sense than me when it comes to cooking.

We were waiting for our new house to be built and only used it for a short while before we moved in.
My wife sold it to the now deceased Malcom Capstick, probably for a lot less than she paid for it.

I got one from Argos a few weeks ago, forget how much it cost Shaz it wasn't £50, and that wasn't by any means the cheapest, just depends what you want it for really, if its only for heating or reheating you don't have to play the earth these days

Lol, mine is only used for heating things up, i also use it for a microwave steam steriliser, for sterilising my nephews bottles when i have him

Mick i think i'll not paint it, just gonna wait till i can afford one, i don't desperately need one, think Reece's uniform comes first at this time of the year, thanx for looking though
