Oh it wasn't unnoticed, but like your version of common sense it came across lacking anything worthwhile.
:)

Took you long enough, to think up a reply, though I didn't think your other reply was of the standard put out by someone with the average IQ of a terrier, I couldn't, wouldn't have found it harmful.
How harmful can a terrier with no (metaphorical) teeth be?
:)

Not very humorous is he; I have fish who could do better than him ... I think the age of the intelligent insult has gone the way of the penny dab. Why not something like: "Hey Less, there's a train leaving in half an hour; be under it." And that's only a spare of the moment insult ... ;):D

Oh, and before you go; it's your round:D

I may have been referring to a toy train ;)

Oh, I was aware of that. I just happen to believe that ripostes should be a tad more clever. Admittedly, mine wasn't all that brilliant. It sounded better when one of my exes said it ... altho' I think it was a bus she wanted me under, not a train:D

England is the home of the witty application of language to insult. My fav is one of Dr. Johnson's:

Dr. Johnson was careless of his dress, and one evening he arrived at a party with his clothes in disarray. His aristocratic hostess said, "Dr. Johnson, your penis is sticking out!" The good Dr. responded, "Madam, you flatter yourself; it is hanging out."

I always liked the Churchill one when Lady Astor said' You, sir, are drunk'.
Churchill replied ' Yes, madam, I am drunk but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly.'

Come on ChrisSJ, must try harder before you can compete with Less.

I always thought it was Bessie Braddock that he made that comment to - she had the physique of a shot putter and the face of a bulldog licking pee off a thistle...anyway - you'd want her in your gang.

Re: Is england currupt?????

Actually, Margaret, after I posted I wondered if I'd got the wording right so I 'googled' it( I'm learning!) and it looks like variations of that quote started long before Churchill!
So perhaps he never said it or perhaps he just re-processed it?
Would even he dare say that to Bessie Braddock? Famous last words!
