I remember the Irish gangers on the road works using their shovel to spread the Asphalt, then using the same shovel to cook bacon and eggs on at lunchtime:D

My uncle who was a fireman on the steam trains used to cook breakfast on the shovel he used for coal.

and my husband was a fireman on steam trains too, and coal was not the only thing on this shovel before the bacon and eggs.
