Depends what you want, Yates on Henry Street in Church has always been excellent - if you mean in town centre you have the choice of Oddies in Arndale or Greggs on Broadway, not forgetting the Pound Bakery also on Broadway - maybe not quite up to the others standard but good value for money all the same

Oddies in Centre is best in my view, Mannings have 2 shops also good. For Independant Yates in Church, Martins In Ossy.

"What is the best bakery in Accrington?" Hmmm

Any of the ones that have shut (cotton street etc),most of the ones still open today are too modern for me and are equally rubbish.
When the bakery's started using microwaves etc,I started to wonder about the quality of the food.

If I was to choose though,it would gace to be oddies in the Arndale.

Steve Yates buys all his stuff in these days, has done for 2 or 3 years now.
Good sandwiches though.

I wondered why their potato pies (Yates) changed a couple of years back. I used to love them but the newer version wasn't the same. Good bakers shop though with a good variety of food on offer. Martins in Ossy is very good too, there is always a queue waiting to be served. Very popular.

I never use any other than Oddies when I am in Accrington, best by far.

Atarah will know.
Used to be very good.

Yes Hurns is open but I am pretty sure it is no longer run by the Hurns.
I was told that it had been taken over by PB's son.
And not that long ago PB was in the shop serving......I only know this because I went in to get a sandwich for Ma.

Their pies aren't as good as they used to be

Oddies is far the best in my opinion.

I used to rate Holland's Steak and Kidney Puddings but had 1 recently and it was awful.
I don't know what they have done but I won't be having any more.
Are Oddie's pies still baked in Nelson?

Don't try their meat pies or potato and meat- they're awful also.
Once you could rely on Hollands- not any more.

Is there no Greenhalghs in Hyndburn? They're very good as large scale bakers go.
