I watch whatever I like on TV ... no chick flicks for me: hockey, baseball, and anything with a violence, coarse language, nudity, and mature themes warning. And for those "romantic benefits" that a wife supplies ... whenever she damn well feels like it, and at exorbitant cost ... why not a friend, or two, with benefits.;)

If my washer breaks down ... no problem ... I'll buy a new one when I damn well feel like it, or spend more time at Rhea's.:D

No dilemma anymore Mick.
If a man wants a happy life, he needs to have a happy wife.
Eric, some men are mentally equipped to live alone.....they can develop strategies which cover all eventualities(as you seem to have done).
Some men(my husband is in this group) would fail miserably. He would not starve. He can clean after a fashion.(he can't manage the washing machine......he still has a dog eared set of instructions that I wrote for him when I went out to Oz for five weeks)
Emotionally he would shrivel up, if left on his own. These are his words. It is a 'mind' thing.

A lethal combination that! In my younger & carefree days myself & other young Squaddies, used to head off to the wash house in Osnabruck to do our dobie Saturday afternoons. To while away the boring wait we'd be off over the road into the "Big Ben" a Brit pub, unfortunately this had the effect that the dobie was forgotten & the Troops would be on a bit of a session.

End result, some time Sunday evening, hordes of Troops rummaging through heaps of crumpled (but clean & usually still damp) Army clobber for something appropriate, that could be ironed & worn for Monday mornings C.O's inspection. :D

Margaret
I ordered the washer I paid for the washer and me and a friend fitted the washer
That's the end of my responsibility
It's upto Anne now to use it so if you want to bring your washing over you better have a word with her:D

You mean to tell me ........you aren't even going to have a little go with it?
I bought a GTech Air ram.....the Dyson died after being used to suck up builders rubble(who could blame it?)
Himself is always getting the GTech out.....something he never did with the dyson.
In fact, I think he spills crumbs on purpose.....just so that he can pick them up with this
lightweight kit.

My house doesn't need hoovering, so long as you take the precaution of walking slowly past the dust making sure not to disturb it.

As for the microwave, that won't need cleaning again for somewhere around 5 years It's had it's lifetime treat it won't get another.

I must be in a similar state then.

Re: Washing machine dilemma

I would not go trying to test that theory Less....you could get into an awful pickle(much worse than cleaning the inside of a microwave.....it would be something that steam would not shift:)).
