Arthritis

Anyone on here suffer with arthritis?
Have you got any suggestions for pain relief or treatments or therapy, conventional or alternative?
Has anyone used a TENS machine and found they really work?

WHEAT PACKS ARE VERY GOOD, have you tried one. I work in a nursing home and the elderly swear by them, and you know what they say ''old remedies the best''

My Mum is a recent convert to Glucosamins Gel, from Holland & Barrett, it worked like magic for her, also comes in tablets but you need to ask your doctor before they'll sell you them. The gel was about £4.

My 18 year old suffers from it and unfortunately nothing seems to help, he is on medication but it's not really doing much. Have tried lots of different things including parrafin wax and aromatherapy. Definately interested in trying other things for him

My friend's mother has been taking "Replenex" which is a glucosamine marketed by Melaleuca and she says it has helped her a lot. You don't need a prescription you can just buy it (but it's not in the shops you have to buy it from a Melaleuca bod like me or become one yourself).

I don't actually have arthritis but I have had funny knees for a while so thought I'd give it a try myself because they reckon it helps all kinds of joint problems and my knees have been a lot better.

I've always found Cod Liver Oil to be helpful for joint pain. The dowager Mrs Acrylic-bob used to swear by Cider Vinegar and Honey.

I'd swear if l was a dowager, you have to leave home & live in a Dowager house at the end of the garden. l'd drink the cider vinegar, and cuss like a trooper.

Yep, have problems with both knees, think it's from lots of football in younger days, an work, kneeling on concrete floors etc, long before the PPE thing came in to being.Fell walking and visits to the gym..........tread mill and the like just to keep the joints moving, oh an a dose of slow sodium release tablets from the Doc. The alternative as per Doc. is operation............no thanks, will keep walking.

Do you know I have arthiritis in my kneas since being about 4 years old. The doctor always said it is growing pains ''she will grow out of it''. I still get it now, very painful in winter. The best thing that I have ever used is DOG OIL, it comes in a little yellow tub and really it works. My uncle told me about it (cos all the family have the same problem) and to be honest I thought ''yeah right'' but you get desperate when it is bad. I tried and it does work.
