Travel Lodge
I am looking for a Travel Lodge or similar within 5 or so miles of Accy. Not your normal B&B but a place just to rest your head no matter what time of the night you get there......
Any ideas please? |
Re: Travel Lodge
Is there not one on the new service station on the M65? only a guess as I have never been on them

Re: Travel Lodge
"Is there not one near Ewood Park at the pub "Fernhurst" or there is one at Burnley on roundabout, near VW garage"
I think a cruise up the M65 is called for.....:D |
Re: Travel Lodge
All the info you need here.............. http://www.travelodge.co.uk
I only ever stop in a travel inn when i go away for a night or two.A good nice soft bed there!! |

Re: Travel Lodge
Hi Busman, Try the one at Burnley.....It's reasonable and comfortable.

Re: Travel Lodge
Hi Busman
Wendy's B&B on Whalley Road in Accy has a good reputation. |
Re: Travel Lodge
It's actually a Travel Lodge rather than a B&B we were looking for but is Wendy's still in operation? I saw it was for sale some weeks ago.
I always used to recommend it to anyone as a B&B if they were visiting Accy. |
Re: Travel Lodge
Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Burnley and Blackburn are both just 6 miles from J7..But the best yet seems to be the Globe Centre at £42-50 for a double room and breakfast (continental at weekends)
I will go round and inspect the room tomorrow and let you all know my thoughts on it for future reference.....:D |

Re: Travel Lodge
Sound good,
There is a Travel inn close to Turf Moor at the Queen Vic Brewers fayre. There is also a place at the Darwen services as well. |
Re: Travel Lodge
I would err on the side of caution with Wendy's;last time we used it there were "overflow" from the bail hostel staying there.Predictably rooms were burgled;a hire car stolen etc etc.We weren't told about these "guests" till after the event for obvious reasons! It may have changed since then;this was early last year but I would check first and ask awkward questions!

Re: Travel Lodge
We went to check out the Globe centre today and were quite impressed.
I'll bear that in mind about the bail hostel overflow at Wendy's. Wouldn't like to recommend that to someone and find they end up being robbed. Can't have done their trade much good. |
Re: Travel Lodge
I have a book with all the travel inns in with maps as its the 1 we used in Edinburgh you are welcome to the book .
