Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

We have a dog already and if we cant find his owners i will have no other option but to take him to the rspca at huncoat tomorrow as he is not getting on that well with my dog, he is a trained dog as he answers to commands, its a shame that he has lost his owner.

What a lovely dog. I do hope you can re-unite him with his owners.....they must be missing him.

Nice one Reidy…
Handing it over to the RSPCA may be a good idea as the dog may be chipped. Might also be an idea to phone the RSPCA and tell them you have the dag as the owners may have rung the RSPCA already.

Good Luck mate.

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

I dont know how long you'll be stuck with the dog but perhaps I could stick an A4 sizes poster up at the Late Shop, Gt Harwood on my way to work tomorrow, you never know it could have come from Harwood, over the fields.

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

That would be great len, if we cant find his owners then we may keep him depending on how well he gets on with my other dog. But i do hope we find his owners soon, If any other accywebers out there could print the poster off and put it up wherever you can i would be very greatfull. Thanks.

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

My only concern is having your phone number on the poster but if you’re ok with that then I’ll visit the late Shop in the morning.
I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I’m almost sure I’ve seen a bloke walking a dog like that round Harwood but then there are probably loads of them. hehe

Ah. Poor little thing, he looks so sad. Hope you manage to find his owner. I would have him but unfortunatly our cat hates dogs.

Keep it away from The Stag or it might end up in a curry.

Basher 06-02-2006 16:33

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

Reidy you could always try Bleakholt http://www.bleakholt.org/

The animals are well cared for up there and they have many visitors every day of the year therefore finding a good home for him shouldn't be a problem.

Len 06-02-2006 17:29

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

Well that’s Harwood covered..
I called round the Late Shop this morning on my way to work but I was too early so bobbed round at lunch time and asked the staff if it was ok to put up the poster, they said it was fine as long as I put it on their notice board, so I did.

I sure that quite a lot of people will know that this dog is missing and with a bit of luck one of these people may visit the Late Shop (Gt Harwood) as many do and hopefully see the poster, that is, if the dog is from the Harwood side of the fields?

Alan Ramsbottom way and the railway terrace (Gt Harwood) are popular areas for dog walkers and if the dog had escaped it may have took it’s self on its usual rout and eventually ended up over Clayton.
Anyhow that’s my theory. Hehe
Let’s see what happens, touch wood.

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

Have you tried phoning the local vets, Mearley's near the Arndale Centre are very good. They'll take the details of the dog, where he was found etc. and keep a record in case anyone reports a lost dog to them - might be worth a try

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

well almost 2 months on and sam has become one of the family, shame we never found his owners but id miss him if he wasnt here now, i have had him newtered and chipped and he is doing really well, has put on some weigh as he was underweight and is learning new things every day, i must say i never realised how clever border collies were and how quick they pick things up.

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

Its nice to hear you've kept him.

It's surprising how attached you get to them, my mum got an alsation from the RSPCA 18 months ago - its like she's always been there.

regardless of whether the dog did/does actually belong to the the family you may know...its no longer their dog as its now legally chipped in the name of 'reidy' and in the eyes of the law under the microchipping of dogs its a ano goer from the start..that and nearly 9 months have passed and its only now that the owners may be found...the dog would have well as being dead as far as the original owners are concerned given the time thats past...not nice to say but true...and I am glad its got a comfy, warm house to live in..

It was not that dog. I gave it a good home and they still have it, ok! I rang them to check. Get lost to all! Whats it got to do with you lot? Get a life! More to life than on here. Sad

Glad to hear he's safe and happy, Steph and Reidy :)

WillowTheWhisp 10-11-2006 09:47

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

So, Steph and Reidy found a dog and angelnikki found another dog and gave it to a good home? Or am I being particularly dim this morning?

Tinkerbelle 10-11-2006 09:52

Re: Found Dog Clayton Le Moors Area

lol! :D

Hmmm I think angelnikki found a dog, that she gave a good home, but then passed the dog onto someone else. She was asking if the dog Steph and Reidy had fitted the description of the dog she had, had in her care, but it wasn't that dog, because she had been in touch with the people that she had passed the dog on to.

I think that's it  If it's not I ain't got a clue lol!
