I went to this school '57/61.I lived in Oswald st and remember essies and Healeys on the corner of Cedar st.Used to knock around with Terry Butterworth,Kevin Proctor, Phil Rose and a lad called Ian who lived on Spencer st.Assembly at school always started with classical music as the kids came from their classrooms.Mrs Barker I think took the younger children for lessons-she was nice, but Pilkington was a right b-stard.I was in the football team.I remember playing football on Bold st,between the old mill and Whitewell dairies, about 20 of us.If the ball went over the wall it would land in a pit full of broken bottles.....what a death trap.

Barbara, long shot but did you have a brother/cousin called Philip who went to the AGS?
If you did Bob Dobson has been trying to trace him for the Old Boys! I'm sure he'd love to hear from you if so.

Old Mother Gums shop, corner of Pitt St & Plantation St, (that was a herbalist in the 1911 census, the owner was age 81) Hilda's greencrocers was across the road. The name Coo rang a bell, there was a George Victor Coo. WOII 1361. Royal Field Artillery WW1, lived in Ossy.[/B]
