Re: family history
Ernest Fairclough, a clerk, lived 140 Wellington St in 1951. This was near to the 'Pop' club. His is the only name in the directory. Plenty of Broadleys. If it transpires that she came from the family who owned the printing works at Clayton, I can probably find you a contact. There are some of that family still around - in Rishton I think. Accrington Library might look at the Voters' list for you at this address

I can't say how Betty Fairclough came to be my dad's first cousin . Before she married Richard Fairclough she was Elizabeth Maguire. She was a bridesmaid at the wedding of my dad to my mum , and as long as I can remember she spent all her married life not far from us , but I didn't know them very well . If you put Marie Ball in the search box it will come up with some posts she made , and hopefully you will be able to send an e-mail . Don't hesitate to ask for more info if it helps . :) There is a CD made by Marie Ball in the library called The Broadleys of Clayton . It might help . |
Re: family history
I have sent webstekj a private message, but he hasn't replied yet. Coincidentally, I was looking at that family last week. Thanks for the recommendation! Marie Ball
