Wright and Gorton Family - Baxenden
 

Hi I'm researching my family history but am getting stuck with Henry Wright, I can't trace his parents or siblings. He was my great grandfather, the father of Olive Wright and she married Richard Gorton who was a butcher in Accrington indoor market. The earliest census record I can find for him is 1891 where he was living on Manchester Road and it states he was born in 1865 on Malta and a British subject. My father was Bazil Gorton and we moved to Derbyshire in 1973. I would be so grateful if any one could help, thanks in advance.

The Lancashire Family History Society's website homepage has a facility for you to contact any members who are researching the Wright surname. The society's members have an on-line forum, on which members offer help- on queries such as this. I recommend joining, if only for one year.
In the 1950s there was a Gorton family living at the bottom of Burnley Rd. I will message you.
