Trying to trace relatives of Fred Bentley ex-RN Newark Street
1 Attachment(s)
Hello
Frederick (Fred) Bentley Born 25/4/1899 was my paternal grandfather and not to be confused with my Dad, also Fred Bentley. I am writing a book about my grandfather and most of it concentrates on his remarkable career in the Royal Navy from 1916 to 1945. He was a survivor of the sinking of the Prince of Wales in 1941. I am trying to track down any living relatives of my grandfather. I know in the 1950s he lived at the bottom of Newark Street and a boy called Rex lived there too. I suspect Rex was his son. Little is known about my grandfather as my Dad rarely spoke of him and I met him only once. I attach a cutting from the Observer archives for information of those interested. There is another thread of mine about him here. http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...ted-68429.html Any info at all would be welcome and I would be most grateful. Thanks Steve |

Didn't a Fred Bentley have something to do with the Toyota Agents on Burnley Road where the BP garage/Spar is now, and after that with Route One Ford in Manchester?
