looking for childhood friends
 

My name is Ruth Lawrence ( maiden name). I lived in Accrington until the age of 12 when, in 1954 we left to live in Nelson.
My sisters and I attended Sacred Heart School in Church in the 1950s.
Mr. Ireland was the headmaster.
Miss Harrison was our favourite teacher.
We lived opposite Milnshaw Park in the council houses which were built after the war but were demolished in the late 60s.
I attended Paddock House School for one year.
I friend I remember well from Paddock House is Julie Whittaker who lived close to Rhydings Park.
Have lived out of the UK for the past 54 years.
At the age of 77 I am remembering the past with nostalgia.
